from Ji-Chu Division of I-Kuan Tao in Taiwan, I-Kuan Tao Ming Hwa Temple is a
federally registered Canadian charity organization with teaching centers in
Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto. Each teaching center has its sanctuary carrying
all the rituals and worships in a regular basis and as required. I-Kuan Tao
members worship the Sacred Source of All, called Ming Ming Shiang Di or Lao Mu.
Regular teaching rallies, retreats, camps, spiritual
rituals, and other out-door activities are held through the year by all the
teaching centers. Separate classes are designed for adult, youth, and minor kids
of age from four to ten. Facilitators presiding youth and kid classes are well
trained in education pertaining to Chinese culture, poetry, nursery rhyme, and
art. Speakers invited to lecture at the teaching centers are life-time
Tao-practitioners with profound knowledge in spiritual cultivation as well as
living models of honorable personality and noble virtue. People who attend the
teaching rally are encouraged to share their personal experience about
enhancement of their spiritual consciousness. For the truth-seekers, life is a
learning process to spiritual awakening and the fulfillment of the compassionate
vow to help others eliminate karmic suffering. The Temple serves to channel
these truth-seekers into a learning group which, through an interactive learning
and timely instruction by other senior practitioners and the Divine Masters,
creates a significant synergy that benefits all the participants. (The end)

Through the age of the human history, only the true masters were bestowed with
the ability to reveal the inner-self (or Buddha nature) of their disciples. In
the Gospel of Thomas Jesus said, "If those who lead you say, ’See, the Kingdom
is in the sky,’ then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you,
’It is in the sea,’ then the fish will precede you. Rather, the Kingdom is
inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then
you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of
the living Father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and
it is you who are that poverty." Jesus was certainly a great master who had the
ability to unfold the kingdom inside of his disciples. The kingdom inside here
is a hint of our inner-selves. The same instance happened when Buddha Gautama
was at Mount Grdhrakuta to give a speech, he intentionally held up a flower
before the assemblage. At the time, all remained silent. Only Kasho, one of the
Buddha’s disciples, alone broke into a smile. Buddha Gautama at the moment
said:?I have the true dharma, exquisite nirvana mind, formless true form of
mysterious gate. It does not rely on letters and is transmitted outside
scriptures. I now hand it to Maha Kasho.?Buddha Gautama was telling the
assemblage that he would reveal the Ultimate Teaching only to Kasho. By breaking
into smile while the Buddha was giving the hint by holding the flower, Kasho
showed that he was perceptively and intellectually ready for the Ultimate
Teaching.
